WAYS OF FEASTING:
Kastellorizo
Noms du Jour is taking over Casa Mediterraneo, a boutique hotel on the tiny Greek island of Kastellorizo, for a five-night food and wine retreat from 6–11 May. Alongside our chef, Sian Redgrave, and local cooks, we’ll explore the flavours of the island. Expect freshly caught fish, rice-stuffed vegetables, sun-dried octopus, baklava and katoumari, thyme honey and chickpea stew straight from the oven. Slow-cooked island goat. Grilled fish landed that morning. All paired with Greek wines.
Days revolve around food and sun-drenched pleasures. Early morning hikes. Turquoise swims after breakfast. Hands-on cooking workshops. Sunset aperitivos and wine tastings on the terrace. Long dinners under the stars, generous and served family-style. Outdoor movie nights, boat trips, market mornings. And plenty of time in between to rest, swim and explore.

THE ITINERARY

THE ISLAND
Kastellorizo is an enchanting island on the easternmost edge of Greece, closer to Turkey than Athens. Pint-sized and perfectly formed, it has one main harbour, a handful of tavernas and steep stone steps climbing into oregano-scented mountains. Neoclassical houses line the waterfront in sun-washed pastels, colourful fishing boats docking metres from where you eat dinner. Life here is slow and elemental, the sea never out of sight, its layered history best experienced through its kitchens. Condé Nast Traveller once called it “the Dodecanese answer to Hydra”.
THE CHEF
Sian Redgrave is an Australian chef, food stylist and recipe developer whose work moves between food, fashion and design. Drawing on historical techniques and Mediterranean produce, her cooking is generous, rooted in seasonality and made to be shared. She has held chef residencies around the world, from Rae’s on Wategoes and Il Delfino in Australia to Casa Lawa and Numero Venti in Italy. Established as a key figure across food, art and culture, she regularly collaborates with brands like Chanel, The Australian Ballet and Vogue.
THE Hosts
Katerina van Camp and Madeleine Woon are the duo behind Noms du Jour. A stylist and a food and travel writer, respectively, they founded NOMS to build community around the smart, spirited people shaping contemporary food and wine culture. You’ll usually find them at a table or on the road, often both at once. Between them, they’ve travelled to more than 30 Greek islands, and Kat spent last season in Kastellorizo running the kitchen at Casa Mediterraneo. She knows every corner of the island.

Absolutely. The retreat is intimate and communal by nature. You can choose to share a room with another participant or book a private suite for extra privacy.

Yes. You’re welcome to share a room or book privately. Just select the appropriate room when booking. The Family suite accommodates up to four guests if you’d like to turn this into a group trip.
Do I need any cooking experience?
Not at all. This is a hands-on retreat, but it’s relaxed and collaborative. Curiosity is far more important than skill.

This is an inclusive retreat. All activities — including hikes and swims — are optional. If needed, we can organise taxis for certain excursions.
Are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Yes, we take allergies and dietary needs into account. Please let us know in advance at bookings@casamediterraneohotel.com so we can plan accordingly.

What should I pack?
Light layers, swimwear, comfortable shoes for walking, and something you feel good in for long dinners under the stars. A detailed packing guide will be sent ahead of the retreat.
What is your cancellation/refund policy?
To confirm your place, a deposit of €800 deposit is required. The remaining balance is due on the 27th April, 2026. Due to the nature of the retreat, payments are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, you are welcome to transfer your place to someone else.
